
Welcome to Thurlstone Brass Band
Thurlstone Brass Band, formed in 1854 as Millhouse Musical Society is a friendly band for players of all ages and abilities. Our band aims to perform publicly with a varied repertoire of traditional and contemporary music. Although unregistered, we have also competed with some success.

We rehearse every Wednesday from 19:45 until about 21:30 in the Millhouse Green Institute on Manchester Road.

Throughout the year, we perform at a wide variety of events throughout the district. These include formal concerts in venues such as the Paramount, at bandstands such as Weston Park and open air concerts including the Penistone Agricultural Show.

Thurlstone Brass Band were formed in 1854 and were originally known as the Millhouse Musical Society.
